Thread: ARMA 2 1.60 patch is out!

I just saw the news today when I was checking my internets.

Everyone seems to be raving about it as there are major major improvments. I am intrested in seeing what they are talking about.
The only reason i dont play ARMA as much is because the netcode is fubar. Now they say that fixed it. I am intrested in playing now.

I will tell you more about it when I get a chance to play it tonight.

So far so good. I like how it feels.
I didnt get much play time online, as usual the servers where dead or empty most of the time. I Feel that the glitch, laggy or jumping in game has all be eliminated.
I played some single player and recorded it for your viewing pleasures.

tell me what you think if the quality @ 1080. I think I can still turn up the video settings a bit.

I have never played ARMA, so this is not a knock against it, but let's assume I had never played it or BF3. Judging strictly on the vids you posted Poi, I would say you had more fun playing BF3 & it's the more fun game. I realize ARMA wasn't MP mode.....That said, ARMA wouldn't cost me 60 bux.

ARMA takes some time to get used to. Its a bit of a slower pace than BF3. I was getting steamed up in BF3 and raging constantly so I decided to step out a bit and play some ARMA2, it calms me down slightly. Ill see if I can get some online footage with ACE mod on. Wish PR would hurry up with the ARMA PR release.

Yeah it seems like they just stopped everything for it not a whisper or mention of nothing from the PR:A2 Devs as to what is going on, in quite a while.

If you are testing the 1.60 patch in single player you probably wont notice any difference in the stutter/warping since that was all internet/MP issues. When playing A2 in single player, not MP, then everything is local to your machine and the warping does not occur.

The game itself is pretty dead a handfull of players compared to any other current title on the market. Even with A2 Free you are not able to run mods so that is a no go for the whole of PR:A2.

On a side note I am diggin your vids man keep em coming. Each one gets a little better! 1 suggestion I would give is instead of cutting the scenes all the time to a new place do some fast forwards instead. I am sure that not all cuts can fast forward well, but doing it on some would add a better flow to the vids IMO.

I hate speeding up the video. in my opinion. I will try to do some text transitions to the next scene. but quick cuts is usually more effective for me. but thanks for the advice.

as for arma2, i did test it out in mp, seems smoother than when i used to play it. but ya community support is lacking, really wish more people play it. i tihnk everyone is busy playing cod and bf3 lol.

Thats funny cause I hate just being in a different point in time with no notice all of a sudden. ROFL. Makes me feel like I lost a bunch of stuff going on.
